Le COVID-19 et les activités en Ouganda

Find the news of the actors in the field!

May 25, 2020: Two months since the start of containment at the Sebitoli station... The news is rather good: all the "confined" assistants are doing well. The monitoring by camera-traps has allowed us to verify the health of 35 chimpanzees. None of them suffer from serious respiratory pathology. Let's hope that everything continues to go well!

March 25, 2020: We learn that tourism and primate research are banned in Kibale National Park. A team of 10 people will be able to be accommodated at the station. None of the people staying at the camp will be allowed to have any contact with the outside world. Planned activities with the villagers are suspended.

March 18, 2020: Containment is decreed in Uganda by the government. Gatherings are banned, schools are closed.  We are waiting for information from the UWA to adapt the activities of the SCP.  We implement barrier measures: wearing of masks, 20 m distance from chimpanzees, disinfection of hands and boots before leaving the station for the forest.
